Ben Shattuck

Ben is a business litigator with experience at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts. Prior to joining Papetti Samuels Weiss McKirgan, Ben clerked for the Hon. David D. Weinzweig and the Hon. James B. Morse of the Arizona Court of Appeals. He then clerked for the Hon. Michael W. Mosman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. As a clerk, Ben learned the ins and outs of every stage of the litigation process—from inception to pre-trial proceedings, trial, and all the way through appeal. He now applies the behind-the-curtain insights he gained from his judicial clerkships to strategize and advocate for his clients.

Between clerkships, Ben practiced at a regional law firm in Portland, Oregon. There, he worked on matters involving antitrust, receiverships, product defect, and corporate governance in an array of industries.

Prior to attending law school, Ben worked for an NGO in Guatemala and taught history at a middle school in Phoenix. Outside of work, Ben’s priority is spending time with his wife and son. They enjoy getting outside and exploring the sights that the beautiful state of Arizona has to offer.
