Elise Phalen is the firm’s first Brian J. Pollock Law Fellow. She graduated from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law as its 2020 Law College Association Scholastic Merit Award recipient and with a Certificate in Health Law. During law school, Elise was a student advocate in the UA’s Veterans’ Advocacy Law Clinic where she helped win a remand in the Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims for reconsideration of a veteran’s service-related disability benefits. She also published an article about mandatory vaccinations in the Arizona Journal for International and Comparative Law. And as the Law Women’s Association Liaison to the Southern Arizona Women Lawyer’s Association, Elise connected her fellow students with professional mentors and networking opportunities. Elise was admitted to the Arizona Bar in July, 2020, and worked in housing and public benefits law before joining PSW.
Prior to law school, Elise earned her BA in English from Boston University and spent several years working as a higher education admissions representative. A former barista, Elise loves to spend her free time brewing her own coffee and baking for her friends and family.
